In view of the many animal classes available on our planet, and the big number of the members in each class, it is difficult to display all techniques for embalming all different animals.  Instead, I will explain the method for embalming birds as a relatively easy example.

A number of specialists embalmed some birds to test how much practical and reliable their method was.  Some of these birds are still in good condition, despite being displayed under normal conditions, since 1948.

Steps for embalming birds

1- Placing the bird on the dissection board and making a longitudinal cut in the abdominal section.

2- Skinning the bird.

3- Separating the body from the skin.

4- Taking out the skull.

5- Drying the body of liquids and removing every trace of meat.

6- Making the internal frame.

7- Stuffing the body with the suitable substance and sewing the cut.
